I'm Brannan. I've been a photographer and graphic designer for the last ONE MILLION YEARS (lol). I'm also John's crazy wife and a mother to a sassy little 8 year old, Cecilia and a four-legged goofball pug, Luna.

I started Brannan Blascak Photography & Design back in November of 2011. I decided to leave my amazing job as the Manager of Creative Media Services for Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to pursue my passion for people and photography.
I realized while directing a CW photo shoot one day, that I wanted to be with people more and less in the boardroom. I loved seeing people in the actual experience of life…whatever life experience it is: travel, marriage, family, dinning, and just being together.
I was born into a family of highly creative people. My dad, William Heywood Sr., was a brilliant furniture developer and designer. After he retired, he became an acclaimed watercolor artist in Yorktown, Virginia.
My mom, Roxanne Heywood, owned her own advertising agency, Admark Ltd., since 1985. She was and always is my true mentor and taught me about life, love, and to never stop learning and pushing forward. I worked and studied with her since I was 12 years old. My first Jefferson National Bank promo piece was illustrating a huge colorful smile full of teeth and personality. The smile on a stick was my first public mass-produced promotional piece and seeing them around Richmond, Va was just so INCREDIBLE!
I was hooked.
